Renowned painter, M. F. Hussain has been conferred Qatar nationality. Since 2006, Mr. Hussain has been living in Dubai and London due to the hundreds of court cases against him in India for allegedly showing disrespect to Hindu gods and goddess in his paintings.

Victor Yanukovych is the new President of Ukraine. He was elected in the February 2010 run-off election by a 3.5 per cent margin. He defeated Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko. Mr. Yanukovych had campaigned on a platform of rebuilding close ties with Russia that were badly soured under his predecessor Viktor Yushchenko.
